TOWN ADMINISTRATOR

Enfield, NC is seeking a full-time Town Administrator to manage the day-to-day operations of the town. The successful applicant will be energetic, creative, and innovative.  Must be able to successfully manage many projects simultaneously and be experienced in managing a diverse workforce.  Additional requirements include: demonstrated success in creating a positive image, marketing products and ideas, motivating both staff and volunteers, and experience in government relations.  Experience working successfully with elected volunteer leadership is necessary.  Familiarity with government grants and aid programs is desired.  Knowledge of revitalization programs and experience in the public sector is a plus. Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, considerable experience in public administration; Ability to pass alcohol and drug test.

PART-TIME RECREATION WORKER

The Town of Enfield is now accepting applications for a part-time Recreation worker. The position is under the general supervision of the Parks & Recreation Director. Primary duties include: assisting in program implementation and sports activity supervision; overseeing program operations and sports activities on a weekly basis; instructing youth of various ages on various activities; ensuring rooms and designated areas are cleaned and arranged neatly; and ensuring activity areas are set up and broken down before and after programs and activities; closely monitor surrounding areas and all activities watching out for and correcting potentially dangerous situations; insure care, upkeep, and storage of facility equipment. The position is responsible for enforcing equally all Recreation Division policies and procedures and/or general facility or park rules. Requirements: The position is open to candidates who have a valid North Carolina driver’s license; good character, integrity, responsibility, enthusiasm, patience, and self-control. Applicants must also possess the ability to utilize clear and concise language skills, follow written and verbal instructions, and provide energetic instruction. Must submit to and pass a drug and alcohol test. Must be able to arrive on time for work and notify the appropriate individual in advance if unable to work. The successful applicant should possess the ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously or in rapid succession. Hours of Work: Maximum 12.50 hours per week; Monday – Friday

 

PART-TIME PARK & RECREATION DIRECTOR

Plans, directs, and participates in providing a flexible program of recreational activities for all segments, groups, ages, and interest levels of the community. Develops long-range plans for the provision of recreational facilities and open space for the leisure time enjoyment of the public; manages the maintenance and use of current facilities. Solicits advisory assistance to and provides administrative support to various advisory and community groups. Recommends the acquisition and development and maintenance of park and playground areas and of structures and facilities. Counsels and receives input from community groups, neighborhood groups, and individuals with regard to the parks and recreation needs, and problems, and utilizes such input for overall planning and programming. Allocates and supervises the work of subordinates; provides programs of training for staff subordinates. Develops, supports, controls, and administers the budget for the department. Interprets the recreational and park program through press releases and other publicity; through representation on councils and committees; and through cooperative planning and effective working relationships with other community agencies and groups, public, and private. Keeps schedules and reports concerning the use and maintenance of all facilities and equipment; prepares and directs the preparation of the periodic and special activity and program reports. Maintains close relationships with school officials and other public agencies. Review, plan, and supervises the various programs of the department. Maximum of 20 hours per week. Mature, responsible adult with a valid NC Driver's License. A High School diploma and experience in the recreation area are preferred. Ability to pass alcohol and drug test.

 

POLICE CAPTAIN

Requires graduation from an accredited University or College with a Bachelor’s Degree and extensive experience in police administration including considerable supervisory experience and not to have been suspended for more than 16 hours within the last (12) months of the application date, except in cases where the hours of suspension are based solely on non-criminal damage to City Property. Performs difficult protective service and difficult administrative work managing the activities of a division within the Police Department; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision. Supervision is exercised over subordinate division personnel. The tasks are planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of the operations, Administrative or Community Services Divisions; assisting with the overall administration of the Police Department; supervising subordinates and enforcing rules and regulations of the agency; planning and directing work of Police Lieutenants, Sergeants, Investigators Officers, and other staff; reviews and coordinates activities of various shifts and other duties assigned by the Chief.
